Those Fightin' Triplets

My triplet ballerinas are my triplet grand-daughters Makenna, Jaeli Jo and Maysie.
As with all siblings, the triplets are prone to fighting with each other. Surprisingly, it is usually one-on-one instead of two against one. And, it is usually, but not always, Jaeli and Maysie who are arguing or fighting. Makenna tends to be the peacemaker. If they are fighting over a toy, headband, food or whatever, Makenna will usually run and find a substitute to whatever they were fighting over so that they both have something similar. Of course, sometimes Makenna finds herself in the middle of a fight and there is no one to save her since her sisters aren't as accommodating to her. Then, she just has to save herself. Most times, their squabbles are easily resolved by one solution or another and the three of them go back to being sisters and best friends. It is never boring being around the triplets, that is for sure.  Beverly

Triplet Individuality

Guest Blogger:  Megan J.
My triplet ballerinas are my daughters, Makenna Anne, Jaeli Jo and Maysie Jailyn.
As triplets, the girls sometimes struggle finding their own identity. Many times, they are referred to as “the triplets” or even my identical twins within the set as “the twins” (more on "the twins" in my guest blog of next month). I, too, often do this and I need to be more considerate and refer to them as individuals. With all three in the same grade (but not classroom) at school, they “share” friends, and even a few cousins, close in age. Lately, Jaeli has been struggling to feel “seen”. At times, she has come to me with tears in her eyes and has said she feels invisible. She feels as though Makenna and Maysie get more attention and others want to be their friend, but not hers. This makes me very sad. Jaeli has the biggest heart of the three girls and, although she has a temper on her, she is the most loving and also the most shy. Jaeli and I have sat down and discussed ways we can make her feel more included and “seen”. Together, we decided a sleepover at her cousins by herself would be a great start. We will continue to find ways to help her discover who she is and how she can open herself up to make new friends outside of her sisters.

Mini Me Triplet

My triplet ballerinas are my triplet grand-daughters Makenna, Jaeli Jo and Maysie.
Of the triplets, Jaeli is probably the most like me. A few years ago, I noticed Jaeli and I had almost identical birthmarks. We have an obvious almost diamond-shaped one on our right arms by our shoulders and there is a small round one on one of our fingers. Jaeli is also shy like I am and struggles with it daily as I do sometimes. We both share a love of reading. She even read the whole book of "Green Eggs and Ham" when she was in First Grade. She also told me the other day (while she was reading a book) that she is always going to want to read a book just like me (while I was reading my Kindle) and commented on how alike we are. I also see bits of myself in Maysie, her "twin triplet", (more on that next month). While Jaeli is right-handed, Maysie is left-handed like me. They both, though, have my deformed little toes! Sad to say, I haven't found much of me in Makenna, but I will keep looking. I am so blessed to see myself in my grandchildren. It is an amazing thing.  Beverly

A New Year, A New Age of Triplets

My triplet ballerinas are my triplet grand-daughters, Makenna, Jaeli Jo and Maysie.
The triplets were born on July 2nd, 2008, so when the Fourth of July comes around each year, we know it is about time for another birthday and a big birthday party. Before the triplets started school, it was mostly just family at the birthday parties. But now, there are three times the number of friends so, of course, there needs to be a big party with the friends each year. In 2013, Rapunzel came to visit. In 2014, they had a pool party. In 2015, it was a Princess birthday party after a trip to Disney World. Last year, they had an American Girl Tea Party with all their friends and dolls. No plans have been made yet for this year when the triplets turn 9, but I am sure it will be just as great. I can't believe this year's birthday will only be a year away from the triplets turning 10. It seems like just yesterday the triplets were babies and one year old. Now, they are young ladies and almost 9 years old. My, how time has flown.  Beverly     My facebook page: The Triplet Ballerinas
